About the CUET
National Testing Agency has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the Undergraduate entrance tests for all the Central Universities. CUET will provide a single window opportunity to students to seek admission in any of the Central Universities (CUs) across the country.
Why CUET ?
CUET has been introduced to reduce the high cut-off standards for entering central universities and their respective colleges. These high cut-off standards were unfair for many aspiring students as the marking system practiced varies significantly from one board to another. The exam is a centralised test for 80+ universities, including the top universities like Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Central University of Punjab, Jawaharlal Nehru University, etc. Admission to all the constituent colleges of the participating universities will be done through the CUET scorecard. It will be easier for the students as they don't have to appear for multiple entrance tests, focus can be made on a single test to get admission to these top universities.
Whats New In CUET
- Exam to be held in hybrid mode- Pen-paper and computer-based.
- Exam to be held in single shift for subjects with large [ more than 1.5 lakh ] registrations. No normalisation process for single shift examinations.
- Subject choices have been reduced to six from ten. Six choices include two languages, three domain subjects and a general test.
